Vazquez offers a legal perspective on firearms rights, costs, and safeguards during Florida’s tax-exempt sales window.

September 22, 2025. Orlando, Florida (Law Firm Newswire). Christine Vazquez, an experienced attorney based in Orlando and founding partner of Central Justice, was prominently featured in a recent Telemundo 31 news segment discussing Florida’s newly enacted tax-exempt period for the purchase of firearms, ammunition, and related outdoor equipment.

Beginning September 8 through December 31, this new tax-exemption law allows buyers to purchase firearms, ammunition, and other outdoor gear in Florida without paying state sales taxes. This change, passed by the Florida Legislature and supported by Governor Ron DeSantis, aims to promote citizens’ rights under the Second Amendment and to lower costs for those involved in shooting sports or hunting.

In the interview, Attorney Vazquez spoke to the rising prices of firearms and ammunition, particularly since the COVID-19 pandemic, emphasizing how the tax-free window may help residents afford their purchases and assert their rights more readily. She also highlighted that other protections remain in place, such as the requirement for criminal background checks before the delivery of firearms. However, licensing fees and some administrative steps have been reduced under the new law.
